Vanessa Shababzadeh is an industrial designer working across objects, products and spatial experiences, with a particular sensitivity to color, materiality and craft. Born and raised in Germany, she studied Product Design at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California, before completing a Master of Advanced Studies in Luxury Design & Craftsmanship at ECAL in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Her emotional and poetic sense allows her designs to go beyond the concept, creating harmony between form, material andexperience. Her passion for products, sensory experiences and space, together with her involvement in color and materiality, results in original designs that balance function with emotion.

Growing up in the small town of Gifhorn, Germany, she spent time in her parents’ Persian rug store, fascinated by the depth of detail and craftsmanship woven into every rug. Each design carried its own aesthetic story, rich imagination and sense of poetry.

As a designer, she works at the intersection of products and spaces, crafting sensorial experiences that weave together psychology, culture and beauty. Through color, material, finish and function, her work explores the delicate balance between traditional craft and contemporary design.

Her ongoing practice and research extend through collaborations and projects with Mazda, Louis Vuitton, L’Epée 1839, Kvadrat, Watches and Wonders, Cristallina Marble, Dropcity Milan Design Week, and Fondazione Spinola Banna.
